Real World Advice for Accountants of All Ages
Coaching, Mentoring, and Practical Tips to Accelerate Your Career Success
My Story
Since retiring from KPMG, Jerry has had the opportunity to stay involved in the business world, serving on Corporate Boards, Chairing Audit Committees and doing consulting work. But one of the roles he enjoyed the most was serving as an “Executive in Residence” at Rowan University where he mentored and coached dozens of accounting students who were transitioning from academia into the work force. This experience became the catalyst for writing the first edition of “Advice for a Successful Career in the Accounting Profession”, a resource for students and early career professionals. Since the Book was published, Jerry has spoken at over 50 Colleges and Universities to thousands of students. In these presentations he shares the suggestions and tips discussed in his Book about the importance of soft skills and relationships to a successful professional accounting career. Jerry also often speaks to accounting organizations or associations, such as State CPA Societies and to Firms of all sizes where he frequently addresses new staff or interns during their onboarding sessions. In 2026, at the request of his publisher, Jerry released the second edition of his book updated and refreshed throughout to address issues and opportunities impacting the rapidly evolving landscape of the Accounting Profession.
